Projects from the spring and fall semesters of 2025. Ordered chronologically with most recent pieces at the top and oldest at the bottom.

An oil painting of a jar of solvent with a straw in it. The jar's lid is to the left, with the light casting harsh shadows of the jar and lidt to the left.
An oil painting of a dress shoe and bow. It is in greyscale, with harsh shadows being cast on and behind the shoe and bow. They are arranged with the bow in front of and leaning on the shoe.
An oil painting of a self portrait of Mauro. It is mostly greyscale, with the shadows being a warm brown. The face is underlit, with the shadows being cast on the forehead and lower lip.
An oil painting of two hands. The knuckles and fingers are brightly rendered with red, and the shadows are cooler, but not bright blue. One hand is above the other, like they are reaching for a handshake but not quite meeting in the middle.
Two oil paintings back to back. Both are of Mauro, but from different points in his life. One is more current, with his glasses and facial hair, and the other is from many years ago, with an earring and lipstick. Both have bright blue for the shadows
An oil painting of a portrait of a figure leaning on a pumpkin. Their hair is long and blonde. They have a tired look on their face. Their face is smushed up against the pumpkin as they lean on it.

Summer of 2025 Projects

The self portrait mid process on a black and white carpeted floor. There is the full sized painting next to color studies in a smaller sketchbook. The painting itself is of a figure surrounded by hands reaching towards them.

Giant Self Portrait with Hands

A mid-process picture of the self portrait painting. It is in the beginning stages of the underpainting, zoomed in on the face cradled by hands. It shaded in monochrome blue.
A watercolor painting of a person cradling their face with their hands as many other hands reach towards them. The figure is brightly colored, and as the hands gert further from the figure, the hands lose that color.

2D Design 2 - Big Paintings in Watercolor

Information

These pieces are the largest I had worked on with watercolor when I did them. I was nervous at first, but had so much fun that I wanted to do larger pieces more often. They are both self portraits, one measuring 20 x 30 inches and the other 16 x 20.

ROMAN SCULPTURE STUDIES

ROMAN SCULPTURE STUDIES

4 Stickers on a desk. They are of ancient roman statues, rendered in bright primary colors. The lighting is very warm.

This is a project for my ancient art history class. I decided to focus on idealism vs verism in roman portrait sculptures.
